Winter Recess
The Green School will be on Winter Recess starting Monday, December 23rd and ending Wednesday, January 1st. Students and staff report to school on January 2nd.

Field Trip: NYU Frederick Loewe Theater
Students enrolled in our Dance Program will watch performances showcasing different dance styles to inform their own choreography development at school.
Broadway: The Notebook
Students and chaperones will be attending an evening production of The Notebook to further their knowledge of genre and engage in enrichment opportunities outside of the school building.

NYC DOE public schools will be closed on November 11th, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day.
Election Day (students do NOT attend)
Students do not attend school today. Staff will report for Professional Development.

Green's Haunted Harvest
Join us for a scary good time!
The Green Garden will be hosting our first Haunted Harvest on the corner of Amsterdam and 84th this Halloween. Stop by for festivities including face painting, a costume contest, a spooky scavenger hunt, candied apples, and more!
Spirit Week: Thrilling Thursday!
The last day of Spirit Week ends with a scare!
Come dressed to impress, and maybe terrify, some of your peers in a costume competition. Voting for scariest and most creative costumes will take place during lunch, with a winner announced at the end of the day. We look forward to seeing how creative and fun your costumes are!
Spirit Week: Pink Out Wednesday!
In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, participants will wear pink clothing to show solidarity and raise awareness for breast cancer research and education.
Spirit Week: Dress Like an Elder Day!
Join us in dressing up as elderly characters or in styles reminiscent of older generations, honoring the wisdoms, customs, and experiences of those who came before us.
Spirit Week: Pajama Day!
Get ready to cozy up and celebrate Pajama Day! Wear your favorite PJs to school and enjoy a fun-filled day of relaxation and school spirit. Join us in showing off your most creative sleepwear—remember, if you snooze, you lose…out on all of the fun!

Tie-Dye for Breast Cancer Awareness!
Join Student Council as we get ready for our Making Strides Against Break Cancer Walk by creating pink tie-dye t-shirts and socks!
We will have dye materials ready in Room 226 after school. Bring a friend and support a good cause!
Citywide Behavioral Expectations Family Workshop
AP Tatiana Manrique and Parent Coordinator Dana Bailey will review the Citywide Behavioral Expectations with families and answer any questions.

Youth Garden Market
We are opening our Learning Garden on September 26th and will be welcoming community members in throughout the Fall to participate in our Fall Garden Program. Please stop by to learn about what is happening within the garden, our school, and our larger local and global community!

Upcoming trips at UAGC:
1. UAGC students enrolled in our dance program will have an opportunity to see the Flamenco Dance Company at New York City Center!
2. 9th and 10th graders will have an opportunity to tour CUNY City Technical College and participate in post-secondary workshops
Mid-Winter Dance Show
UAGC celebrates Black History Month with student created work and performances!
Hadestown
UAGC students with strong attendance for the month of February will be able to apply for an opportunity to attend Hadestown! Student interested in and currently reading mythology -be sure to apply!
Wicked
25 UAGC students will participate in this Broadway Bridges opportunity and see Wicked for free with 3 chaperones!
Mid Winter Break
UAGC students will not be in attendance the week of February 19 - 23rd! We wish all of our community members a restful and restorative break!
